Born Pretty Water Decals in Black and White Stars Pattern.

I have a further item which I was sent to be reviewed by the Born Pretty Store.  This post contains links to the Born Pretty store which are not affiliate links.

This product is Black White Stars Dot Pattern S018 which retails at $2.88, which after the 10% discount is approx £1.60.

The following water decals made me think of a french manicure straight away!  I don't know why as the BPS show them on a two colour manicure covering the join.

The pictures below are taken from the Born Pretty Website.

Each of the lines of pattern are approx two inches.  I found with the designs below I could comfortably cut a line of pattern into three and it would be wide enough to place on the nail with some overhang to trim.

First I tried the black pattern, to do this I actually did a "traditional" French manicure!  Hubby was surprised to see me with nails like this!  I wasn't happy with the freehanded white tips so I didn't get any before decal pictures, but the decals hide my poor application of tips well.  I used to do this type of traditional French all the time, in my old job it was the only type of nail polish which didn't get frowned at by "the management."  My polishes for this were OPI Barre My Soul and My Boyfriend Scales Walls.

Application of the decals was simple, the decals easily peeled from the card after being soaked.  I then applied them to my nails.  In the past I would have considered rubbing the back of the card and then trying to peel the card off my nails, but for the manicures below I needed acurrate placement.

I was so surprised at how much I liked these!  They are clean and fresh, but had a twist!

For the white pattern I did an alternative French, the next one is much more me!  I started with a base of Wet n Wild Black Creme, this went on in one coat.  This nail polish only cost 99p, so I can see this becoming my new favourite black!  Once the black was dry I soaked my white pattern in water, peeled and applied from there, this time using the white pattern as the French tip.

The last two pictures have light reflection on them which seems like there are lines but actually the nails were smooth and super shiny!!

I loved the design of the decals and how easy they were to use, I would definitely recommend them.

    1. Thanks, they just seemed right that way, when I sat down to do the black nails I had intended having a diagonal stripe, but then the tip just tempted me so much!

    1. Thanks Cathy, they also hid my not quite perfect freehanded white tips!

    1. Thanks :) I am still undecided which way I prefer them. It is unusual for me to do something two ways and not have a clear preference! The black with white tips got repinned from a pinterest board quite a lot, more than the traditional one.

    2. I don't know, I looked up again at the photos, and I am with you, I can't choose one over the other! Maybe the repinning is because the black shows up better in photos or little thumbnails or something.
