Blue Ombre Polka Dots

Ombre polka dots were one of those "falling asleep" ideas I had which I was lucky enough to remember - lucky in that I sat up, grabbed my phone and emailed myself to ensure I didn't forget!  I was so impressed by them, less so by the photos in this post, they were done with the point and shoot camera on a bright sunny day and have come out looking a little bleached.

NailStickrs Review

**press sample**

I recently was offered an opportunity to review NailStickrs which are fab nail stencils for creating some easy effects.  Over my last few posts I have featured them over and over as I am totally in love with them.

Foolishly I never took a photo of the pack before I started using them, however below you can see the pack I have been playing with.  Kudos to Jade of Life in Lacquer for her post because if I had read her guide I would have spent time with the tweezers trying to align zigzags.  In summary, stick a patch of about five on at once and use tweezers to remove some so you can the paint or sponge over them.

Steel & Blue skittlette

**press sample**

I have been totally loving skittlette manis of late, I find that lots of little different bits all in one mani is inspiring me to actually do my nails, hopefully it's a bit of mojo coming back - the problems I had when I had to cut my nails short, plus the health issues before that mean that since February I haven't really felt like I have been inspired.

The photos in today's post were taken using a point & shoot camera on auto using the flash as the night I did these I couldn't be arsed with setting up the light box beforehand and then afterwards I didn't want to chance ruining my nails and hubby was too interested in England's second World Cup match to come and do it for me!

My Kinetic candy has had a lot of use and I really should have cleaned the drip off the bottle beforehand!

Skittlette in neutral and blue.

I have been quite in love with skittlette designs lately, especially since getting the NailStickrs for review - full post yet to come on these.

Today's skittlette was done on the Saturday evening when England had just kicked off their first world cup match (11pm!) and the thumb nail went wrong four times, in the end I just used plain blue, but the blue had already stained on my skin.  I had kind of lost the will to continue by this point!  Luckily the photos don't look quite as bad as it did IRL!!

My yoomoo nail art for #guiltfreeze competition

**press sample**

In my last post I mentioned the #guiltfreeze competition from yoomoo, today I am sharing my entry - which is already on Instagram and has been shared by yoomoo :)

My entry combines my love of strawberry swirl and skittlette nails, I used two shades of pink with white as frozen yogurt has these three colours in it.

Udderly Shocking Pink #guiltfreeze Giveaway

**press sample**

Today I have a special competition to promote and a give-away of my own to start.

yoomoo frozen yoghurts are a dessert I enjoy - I have to admit I had first tried them when ordering from Pizza Hut, so when I heard about them pairing up with Nails Inc and The Nailasaurus I was interested to find out some more!

I was sent a bottle of Udderly Shocking Pink and an invite to enter the #guiltfreeze competition.  Today I have swatches, details of the #guiltfreeze competition and my own giveaway of some bottles of Udderly Shocking Pink.  In my next post you will be able to see my #guiltfreeze entry!

Recent photo spam

Today's post is a bit of a photo spam post with some nails, nail mail and other bits n bobs over the last couple of weeks.  My nails have been very short due to lifting, I had to clip my index finger down twice in the last 5 weeks, to a very very short length, so the pics are my total nubbin nails (I only have short beds and lifting made them even shorter!)  I now suspect I have had issues with psoriasis as my hands have totally flared up 2 weeks ago.  There seems to be some improvement so I am hoping to go back to regular blogging soon!

Firstly, skittlettes!  I have done a lot of skittlette type manis over the last few weeks, most of these pics were taken on my phone.

This first one is using Barry M Almond which is my favourite neutral of the moment!  I used  a silver glittery accent nail which was a-england Encore Margot with a layer of Merlin.  The teal nails (Layla Aqua Zen stamped with MoYou white) came off right after this photo was taken, the photo below was after 24hrs wear.  I replaced those nails with plain Sally Hansen Spring Green and kept this mani on for a further 2 days.

Review of and Barry M Pacific.

**press sample**

Today's review has taken me a while to get around to posting, I had to wait for my ubershort index finger to grow to an almost presentable length!!

I was contacted a couple of weeks by a new to me website selling polish, and asked if I would like to review a polish for them.  I had a look at the website and was impressed at the selection of polishes  they had which included recent release Barry Ms, InVogue and Essie in amongst others.  Price wise they seemed competitive, Barry M at the same prices you would find on the high street plus free delivery.  One of my biggest grievances about buying online is paying for postage, so this is great.

I was sent one of the Barry M Aquarium polishes Pacific for review.

Snoop in the Stash!

A couple of weeks ago I was tagged on Instagram in a "what are you doing right now" hastag.  Well, at the time it was a Sunday, it was absolutely pouring with rain, hubby was watching the Spanish (I think!) Grand Prix, so what was I doing?  Sorting through my Helmers!  I have always had my polishes sorted by brand, but back in December I was running out of space so I put them into colours and it meant more space in my drawers.  I hated this, I couldn't find polishes when I wanted them plus I now have 2 helmers and space isn't an issue now, so I decided to go back to brands.

I think the picture below is all of my polishes in various heaps.  Doesn't look like it's close to 600, but the bed is a kingsize.

Dotticure #guessthepolish

I love using black and white for dots over a bright base, the mystery coral red shade is a perfect candidate for some "dalmatian dots."

Surprise Nail Mail and #guessthepolish giveaway

**Press sample**

I recently got some surprise nail mail which had an invite to join in a #guessthepolish giveaway.  Having already done a guess the polish giveaway earlier and seeing how popular it was, I was amazed at the brand having provided an unbranded bottle - great idea!    This links in with a new selection of polishes being released by the brand featuring "Perfect pigment, statement shine, no rival polish lasts like mine" with 22 shades to choose from.  The shade I have is a corally shade which leans very much towards red in some lights.

I have a couple of posts planned over the next week featuring this shade, today I have swatches of it alone.  My nubbins are still very short after I had to cut them right back (this is after two weeks of growth!)
